What’s this Bonzo Daily thing?

You may have noticed that Ryan, one of our co-founders, has been posting cool and interesting sites for the past couple of weeks in the new Blog category Bonzo Daily.

Ryan is really great at finding interesting or funny things on the internet, so we want to share some of his finds with you.  For now, we’re posting his Bonzo Daily articles both in the Bonzo Daily category and in the Latest News category so that they appear directly on BonzoBox.com, but we don’t plan on pushing them to BonzoBox.com forever, so subscribe to our RSS feed or follow @bonzobox on twitter to keep getting the latest Bonzo Daily sites from Ryan.

PS. You can check out Ryan’s BonzoBox here.

Thank You!

We all here at BonzoBox would like to say thank you for your continued support. We have come a long way since the beginning. Some great new features will be coming out shortly and we hope you enjoy them. We love to get your feedback so that we can continue to build the best possible site for you, so keep it coming! Please excuse any technical issues that may occur while we continue to grow by the day. Thank you again and we wish you the best.

Summer Interns Wanted.

For the past few weeks we’ve been quietly looking for interns to join our team for the summer, and possibly longer.  We have found some excellent people, (look for an introduction later on), but there are a few key internships that we would like to fill.

Starting today we are looking for a Graphic & Web Design intern. If you are self-motivated, collaborative in nature, can wear many hats, and will thrive in a start-up environment, we want you to apply.  See more on the BonzoBox Recruiting Page.

While we’re at it, we are looking for commission-based salespeople.  We’re offering a healthy commission, so if you’re good at sales, head to the Recruiting Page for more info.

Facebook’s New Design Reminds me of BonzoBox

Facebook just went live with their much discussed new design, and their friends section looks kind of familiar. Now, we’re not saying that we own the rounded-corners market, but hey, we’re pretty flattered when such a huge company imitates us. What do you think?

BonzoBox 2008 Year in Review

Now that the partying is, (partly), over, it’s time for us to take a look back and see what we’ve accomplished this year at BonzoBox, and to look forward and see what we need to do.

2008 saw the successful beta launch of BonzoBox.com, our site, and our company. We’re an eclectic team with members in California and Québec and backgrounds ranging from real estate to programming to design to classical dance. Some of us knew each other before we invented BonzoBox and some didn’t, but now we’re a pretty tight bunch. That’s enough nostalgia. Wipe your eyes and read on.

This year we’ve made an attempt to reach out to our users and have received a bunch of feedback. With our next few updates we will attempt to address as many of your concerns as possible. If ever you have a problem with the site or have anything you want to say, good or bad, please let us know. There is a feedback link at the bottom of every page, and on most pages there is a feedback tab at the side that will let you submit feedback to our user forum.

In 2009, in addition what was mentioned in our Holiday Newsletter, we will be throwing our doors wide open. You will be able to link directly to your BonzoBox and even if your friends aren’t BonzoBox members they can see what you have in your box, if you let them, (of course, we want them to become members, so throw in a good word for us, won’t you?). 2009 will be the Year of the BonzoBox. Please enjoy it, and keep telling us what you think.

BonzoBox on the iPhone

BonzoBox works great on the iPhone.

BonzoBox works great on the iPhone.

Expecting this to be an announcement of an iPhone app?  Nope.  I’m here to say that BonzoBox works great on the iPhone as-is!  That’s right, without typing a special URL or anything you can have your favorite web pages just a tap away.

So, how do we know BonzoBox is so awesome on the iPhone?  All of our team members who have iPhones use BonzoBox on their iPhones, (yeah, some of us haven’t been able to kick the crackberry habit yet).

For those of you not using the iPhone yet, (hey – I’m not – don’t feel too bad), stay tuned, we’re thinking of you too.

BonzoBox: …and deadspin.com

BonzoBox maximizes your Internet efficiency by providing a convenient plate of everything you need or want to see, regardless of source, in one convenient location. You’ll save so much time using our site, you may find yourself in a precarious situation… what to do with the sudden influx of free time?

Obviously working is out of the question. If you start working harder now, your supervisors will surely realize just how little effort you’ve been putting in before this. We can also take increased attention to personal hygiene, Internet dating, and reading Shia LaBeouf related blogs off the list of possible time fillers, as they will all leave you worse off in the long run. No, the best way to fill all that new free time is obvious: Find more ways to waste time on the Internet.

We’ve already told you about two good options: TheDirty.com and TMZ.com. Now let’s dive a little deeper. For those of you that love dirt on famous people, but are too wrapped up in sports scores and stories to know who Miley Cyrus is or have never spent a weekend at ASU, Deadspin.com is the site for you.

The Site is a home for all sports-related news, not just the stuff you see Scott Van Pelt talking about on SportsCenter. The site’s tagline says it all: “Sports News Without Access, Favor, or Discretion”. It provides a unique service in a time when sports news is dominated by only a few major mediums. Want to know the latest on Brett Favre’s looming comeback? They have it. Want to know the progress of Gilbert Arenas’s $1 million dollar pool (with a grotto)? They have it. Want to see a picture of Brady Quinn looking ridiculous? Not tough to find, but they have that in spades.

Deadspin is a well-trafficked site for good reason. The ability to see esteemed athletes and media members acting like regular people or worse is downright addictive. Don’t believe us? Add Deadspin.com to your BonzoBox homepage and find out for yourself.

Take advantage of all that free time. Check out Deadspin.com, read about famous athletes making questionable decisions, and be happy. Oh, and get your friends signed up for BonzoBox.

BonzoBox: A Hub for Email

As the world continues to front all types of communication methods, email seems to be dominating the scene. Whether you constantly use your Blackberry, iPhone, standard Outlook, or a free online provider such as Gmail to access your inbox, Bonzobox allows you another route to reaching your email accounts. While on your BonzoBox homepage, why not view any new messages in your inboxes. You can set up multiple email accounts to view at once. Bonzobox provides; Gmail, Yahoo mail, MSN Hotmail, AOL Mail, and Pop/Imap to access any other personal accounts. With the advantage of seeing multiple inboxes at the same time Bonzobox makes your email world much more efficient. Check it Out!
